Good job doing this!
A read this scene as a mage knight lost in a spooky, foggy and dark forest or swamp and it may be in the middle of the night. He is on edge because of the danger of the location and he's using a spell of light to leave a trail so he wouldn't get lost. Maybe he is on a quest? Or is on a scouting mission? I see no hint or sign of why he is there.

I like the details on his armor and sword, it gives him a sense of culture and association. I also think you did wonderfully with the fog, it lends toward ominous and dangerous.
