I like the composition of this piece. The upright figure with extended arm and bent knees pulls the eye from the face, to the light, and then down the body to the chapel on the left. The artistry is clear and skillful, and the idea is a lot of fun - I enjoy how the otherwordly-ness is expressed in a significant way by the slant of the painting.

That said, the composition almost breaks the picture into two halves - the left half, and the right. It took me a second look before I even noticed the moon, and the tree to the right. Some change in composition allowing my eye clear flow around the picture would be nice. Also, I am not entirely satisfied with the fence fleur-de-lis; they appear to be cropped into the painting rather than to be an integral part of it; it pulled me out of the piece when I saw it. I think the fence idea was a good one though; I wonder if a slight change to the fencing would also solve the compositional break.

Overall, though I think the piece could have used a little bit more time as a composition sketch, (and perhaps should have been accompanied by a few more exercises in foreground elements) I would say this is a very good piece, and demonstrates the artists skill. I always enjoy this artists work, and this piece did not disappoint in that regard.
