Nice! I think my favorite part is the knife, with its horn-or-bone grips and its slight irregularities - very real.

Is the disk just above the dice a clock, compass, weighing scale....?

I've got a few minor suggestions for making this picture even more effective, but you're welcome to ignore 'em:

1. You might add a little detail to the coins(?) to match the other objects' level of focus; otherwise, we can be distracted by assuming they are accurately detailed flat yellow discs, like Necco Wafers or something.

2. And I'd clarify that clockish thing so we can definitely tell what it is (even if it's just a mysterious device and not a clock), because otherwise we can be distracted by wondering. And if it IS a clock, I'd suggest a winding knob and some rim details or something to remind us it's older technology than we can buy from Walmart. I mean, I've got a $8 wall clock from there which looks almost like this one except the frame is white.

3. Do these people have a printing press? If not, you might want your final draft of the book & papers to look more handwritten.

4. I'd recommend not using the obvious character sheet or gaming chart on the lower left; it leaves us a little jarred by the conflict in reality levels. You don't need it to tell us that this is for gaming; we know that from the title, and gaming-tool art hasn't needed more than that for decades.

But this is nitpicking; the overall picture looks REALLY good and makes us want to know more.

Nicely done!

(And do let me know if any of this is confusing; I tend towards odd idioms sometimes.)
